DMCA and takedown policy: star in the trend
Star in the Trend is an independent fan-made tool. It is not affiliated with the original creators of any meme or with anyone who appears in the original clips. Celebrities, public figures and minors are not allowed, and source clips are cropped, blurred or recreated so that no identifiable bystanders appear in generated videos.
How to send a takedown notice
If you believe a video made on Star in the Trend uses your copyrighted work, or shows you without your permission, email hello@starinthetrend.com with the subject line "Takedown request". Please include:
- Your full name, postal address, phone number and email address.
- The copyrighted work you believe was infringed, or a description of how the video shows you.
- Where you found the video (a link, a screenshot, or the date and the account it was shared from), so we can find it.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by you, your agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is fine).
We review every notice. When a notice is complete, we delete the video (the photo it was made from is already deleted once the video is made), and we may close accounts that repeatedly break our rules. Generated videos are deleted automatically after 7 days anyway; videos that were downloaded or shared elsewhere are outside our control, so please also contact the site where you found it.
Counter-notice
If your video was removed and you believe that was a mistake (for example, it is you in the photo, or you had the person's permission), email hello@starinthetrend.com with the subject line "Counter-notice" and include:
- Your full name, postal address, phone number and email address.
- Which video was removed and when.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the video was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district where we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We forward a complete counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. Because generated videos are only kept for 7 days, a removed video usually cannot be restored; you can make a new one instead.
